On April 24, the 2025 Joint Promotion Week of Featured Industries and High-Quality Cultural & Tourism Projects in Sichuan's Ethnic Minority Areas commenced in Shenzhen, with Miyi County of Panzhihua City invited to showcase its unique offerings.
The event aimed to introduce Miyi to businesses and residents across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, inviting them to experience the county's captivating blend of sunlit landscapes and rich cultural heritage while uncovering the vast potential of its industries. During the event, county-level departments delivered compelling presentations on Miyi's distinctive ethnic cultures, cultural tourism and wellness resources, and specialty agricultural products.
Bearing the theme "The Hometown of Zhuanxu·Sunny Miyi", the county leveraged its strengths in unique agricultural and sideline products, intangible cultural heritages, and vibrant ethnic traditions to become the sole county-level unit in Sichuan Province granted dual exhibition rights for both indoor and outdoor venues. At prime core booths, Miyi presented its unparalleled ethnic cultural charm—featuring colorful folk costumes, ancient traditions, and artisanal craftsmanship—and its abundant tourism resources, quickly becoming the event's focal point and igniting a "Miyi craze" in the "City of the Roc" (Shenzhen's symbolic nickname).
The "Sunny Miyi" exhibition area dazzled visitors with a diverse array of local specialties: plump blueberries, succulent cherries, fragrant loquats, ripe tomatoes, and traditional treats like hibiscus cakes, egg pastries, and handcrafted brown sugar, which drew crowds of locals to taste and learn about the county's produce. Cultural and creative products, alongside intricately designed ethnic costumes and masterful traditional handicrafts, offered an immersive experience of Miyi's unique cultural allure, allowing visitors to engage closely with its heritage.
Yang Jinglan, a distinguished guest, stated, "Miyi's blueberries, cherries, and cherry tomatoes are brimming with the taste of happiness. Such high-quality fruits, full of natural sweetness and juiciness, are sure to enjoy great popularity in the Greater Bay Area market."
Local resident Song Huijuan shared, "From afar, the vibrant ethnic costumes of Miyi caught my eye—they're uniquely characteristic! The fruits I tasted were sweet, fresh, and succulent, with a rich variety. I definitely hope to visit Miyi someday to experience its charm for myself."
Co-hosted by the Sichuan Provincial Ethnic and Religious Affairs Commission, Department of Culture and Tourism of Sichuan Province, Bureau of Economic Cooperation of Sichuan Province, Sichuan Federation of Industry and Commerce, Sichuan Supply and Marketing Cooperatives, and the Office of the People's Government of Sichuan Province in Guangzhou, the five-day event aimed to reinforce the sense of community for the Chinese nation and showcase the remarkable achievements in reform, development, and ethnic unity within Sichuan's ethnic minority regions.
